Aqiqah & Naming Ceremony Photographer in Mumbai
The aqiqah is a joyful, intimate family milestone: a newborn's naming ceremony, often paired with the sadaqah of hair-shaving and a family gathering to welcome the child. The Wedding Film photographs aqiqah ceremonies across Mumbai with the same care we bring to a wedding, scaled to what is usually a smaller, more personal occasion.
Because an aqiqah centres on a newborn and close family, our approach is gentle and unobtrusive: quiet coverage during the ceremony itself, and relaxed, natural portraits of the baby with parents, grandparents and siblings once the formal part of the day is complete.
Photographing a Newborn's Milestone With Care
We move carefully around a newborn: minimal flash, no crowding, and a pace set by the baby and the family rather than a strict shot list. The naming itself, often spoken quietly by an elder or the imam, and any accompanying rituals are photographed discreetly so the moment stays exactly as intimate as your family intended.
Afterwards, we focus on portraits: the baby with each parent, with grandparents meeting a new grandchild, and with siblings, often the first formal photographs of the family as a new unit of that size. These are the images most families return to years later.
If your aqiqah is combined with a larger family gathering or meal, we cover that too, capturing the day as a whole rather than only the ceremonial portion.

Everything You Might Be Wondering
A few questions couples ask us most about this specific service. Can't find yours? We're always happy to talk.
Yes, most aqiqah ceremonies we photograph are intimate, home-based gatherings, and we scale our approach and equipment to that setting rather than treating it like a large event.
